Performing Each Attunement Separately - First, Second, Third Attunement

Performing Each Attunement Separately

If you choose to accomplish each attunement separately, you can complete the steps below. During an attunement or reiju, the student's energy is brought into harmony with their higher self, enabling them to be a clear channel for Reiki's healing level.

Performing Each Attunement Separately

Reiju

Level I First Attunement

By opening the crown chakra, this attunement will help the student's physical body re-align itself with its natural frequency.

Step 1

(Standing behind student)

Raise your non-dominant hand, palm facing up. Draw the Dai Ko Myo Symbol above the student's crown chakra with your dominant hand.

Step 2

Place your dominant hand above the student's head chakra while maintaining an extended non-dominant hand. Consider Cho Ku Rei, Sei Hei Ki, and Hon Sha Sho Nen. Allow the energy to flow for a moment in that position.

Step 3

Circulate the student counterclockwise. Raise the student's hands to a simpler position to work with using the non-dominant hand. Bend down to eye level with the student's hands and place your dominant hand fingers to the student's fingertips. Assume that position while envisioning the CKR.

Step 4

Lift the student's hands to their faces to access their neck chakra. Visualize the CKR and inhale slowly. Blowing out the heart, throat, and third eye chakras.

Step 5

Step back and place the student's hands over their heart. Take some time to be present and then finish the attunement. "This closes the first attunement," you may say to the student. Ask the student about his/her sensations, visions, or experiences during the attunement. This dialogue helps the student analyze what happened and validates that "the attunement worked."

Level I Second & Third Attunements

This attunement awakens the student's throat and third eye chakras, harmonizing the neurological system to improve the clarity of thought and ability to articulate personal truth.

The steps for the second and third attunements are identical. Begin by walking anticlockwise around the student.

Step 1

Raise your non-dominant hand, palm upwards. Draw the DKM over the student's crown chakra.

Step 2

Visualize the CKR, SHK, and HSZSN on the student's shoulders. Observe the student's chakras from crown to root.

Step 3

Circulate the student counterclockwise. Pull the student's hands up and bend to his/her eye level with your non-dominant hand. Touch the student with your dominant hand. SHK, DKM, and HSZSN are visualized.

Level I Fourth Attunement

Preparation is similar to the first, second, and third attunements. The student is seated in a chair, hands in gassho posture. Third eye and crown chakra attunements focus on higher consciousness and intuition.

Level II Attunement

The Level II attunement seals the symbols into the student’s hands.

Step 4

Placing the palms of the student's hands face up on their lap is a good way to start a lesson. Take one hand and draw the HSZSN with your dominant hand over their palm and place their hand within both of yours. Place the student's hand within yours and the SHK over theirs. Now draw the CKR over the student's palm and place their hand within both of yours. Return the student's hand to their lap.

Step four should be repeated with the student's other hand up.

Step 5

Lift the student's hands to their faces in the same hand posture to access their neck chakra. Visualize the CKR and breathe it through your nose. Moving from the heart chakra, throat chakra, and third eye chakra burst out over the three chakras.

Step 6

Place the student's hands on their heart center and take a step back. Allow yourself some time to be present before concluding the attunement. You may desire to let the student know the attunement is completed by saying something such as, "this finishes the first attunement." You might take some time and ask the student to talk about the feelings, visions, or experiences that he/she had throughout the attunement. This dialogue provides an opportunity for the student to understand what has occurred and helps to affirm that "the attunement worked."

Each attunement harmonizes the student's energy with their higher self, enabling them to be a clean channel for Reiki's healing level, even if you want to conduct it separately.

The shadow self refers to the aspects of ourselves that have been repressed into the unconscious — the aspects of ourselves that we are insecure about, ashamed of, or frustrated with.
