The separate Level I and Level II attunement sequences below follow one Reiki teaching tradition. Other Reiki lineages use different orders and symbols. The chakra and energy language below belongs to spiritual practice; it does not describe a demonstrated change in bodily frequency, the nervous system, or health.
Before any ceremony, explain the steps and ask separately about touch, movement, proximity, and breath-related actions. Offer a hands-off version of each step. A student may keep their eyes open, decline any step, or stop at any time. Never move or touch a student's hands or body without specific permission, and do not blow toward them. An experience report is optional and does not prove an attunement worked.
Performing Each Attunement Separately
Level I First Attunement
In this version, the first attunement focuses on the crown and names Dai Ko Myo (DKM), Cho Ku Rei (CKR), Sei Hei Ki (SHK), and Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen (HSZSN).
Step 1
From a comfortable distance, raise one palm and trace or visualize DKM in the air above the crown. Do not touch the student's head.
Step 2
Hold the hands at a distance or rest them comfortably. The practitioner may visualize CKR, SHK, and HSZSN as part of their own ritual.
Step 3
If the student chooses, they may place their own hands in a comfortable position. The practitioner can visualize CKR near the hands without lifting or touching them.
Step 4
This sequence associates CKR with the throat, heart, and third-eye areas. A no-touch version may visualize the symbol in the air. Keep breathing natural; do not blow on the student or direct their breath.
Step 5
Pause to close the ceremony. The student may share an experience if they wish, or say nothing. Do not interpret sensations or visions as confirmation of an attunement.
Level I Second And Third Attunements
This sequence places attention on the throat and third-eye chakras. These are spiritual concepts in this practice, not claims about the neurological system or a change in thought or speech ability. The second and third sequences are described as similar.
Step 1
The practitioner may visualize DKM above the crown from a comfortable distance.
Step 2
CKR, SHK, and HSZSN may be visualized at a distance around the shoulders. No scan or assessment of the student's body is needed.
Step 3
The student may choose a hand position. The practitioner can visualize SHK, DKM, and HSZSN without touching or moving the student.
Step 4
This sequence associates CKR with the throat, heart, and third-eye areas. Keep this symbolic and hands-off, with natural breathing and no blowing.
Step 5
Close with a pause or optional prayer. Invite, but do not require, the student to share what the ceremony meant to them. Their report is not evidence that a particular effect occurred.
Level I Fourth Attunement
Preparation is similar to the preceding Level I steps, with the student seated and optionally using Gassho. This ritual associates the crown and third eye with higher consciousness and intuition as spiritual themes. Use the same consent and hands-off choices throughout.
Level II Attunement
Level II in this sequence includes symbols at the hands. The student can trace any symbols on their own palms, or the practitioner can visualize them in the air; there is no need to hold the student's hands.
Step 1
Visualize DKM above the crown from a comfortable distance.
Step 2
The practitioner may visualize CKR, SHK, and HSZSN near the shoulders as ritual symbols, without assessing the student's chakras.
Step 3
The student may place their own hands wherever comfortable while the practitioner visualizes SHK, DKM, and HSZSN at a distance.
Step 4
This sequence includes HSZSN, SHK, and CKR for each palm. Invite the student to trace these symbols themselves, or keep the gesture entirely in the air. The student can leave this step out.
Step 5
The source associates CKR with the heart, throat, and third eye. If included, visualize the symbol at a distance. Do not blow or direct breath toward the student.
Step 6
Close with a quiet pause. Ask whether the student would like to share anything, making clear that sharing is optional and not a way to validate the attunement.
In this lineage account, the separate ceremonies use symbols and chakra imagery to express spiritual practice. They do not establish a medical effect or a guaranteed ability to channel healing.
