How Do You Do Meditation?

If you want to improve your personal growth and spiritual development, you may easily incorporate meditation into your everyday practice. With meditation, you can either raise or decrease your level of awareness of the world around you since it induces a deeply relaxed state of being. A strengthening of "inner knowing" rather than knowledge is achieved through experiencing and enjoying a feeling of being at one with yourself and the Universe, as well as an acceptance of yourself and your role in the overall scheme of things.

A mental and spiritual discipline, meditation, can be practiced by anyone willing. Meditation is a skill that requires practice and self-discipline, but once you get the hang of it, it becomes a natural part of your life.

Mindfulness meditation

The mind is quieted and focused in all types of meditation. First, it seeks to lessen the noise of daily life and finally eradicate it, allowing us to reconnect with our inner being in an atmosphere free of the demands of our daily lives. Our issues and illusions and those that we allow others to create for us can be overcome with this method. You can move beyond the mundane and discover your true self through meditation. Focusing on the present and being present-aware are skills that can transform our brain activity and allow us to experience the delight of the Universe more fully. Meditation can be practiced in a variety of ways, including:

  • Chanting or singing basic phrases or mantras repeatedly, such as the chants of the Reiki symbols.
  • Meditate on symbols (for example, across), icons (for example, an image of Jesus or the Buddha), or mandalas (wonderful circular designs)—or, of course, the Reiki symbols.
  • Focus on the four elements of earth, air, fire, and water in your meditation (this occurs in Eastern and Western spiritual traditions).
  • Sound-based meditation, such as Tibetan gongs or natural noises.
  • Visualization is a type of guided meditation that takes you on a trip into your deeper self.

How Do You Do Meditation?

All forms of meditation are equally valid, so you may want to try a few in your search for the one that best suits you, or you may discover that combining several types of meditation is the greatest way for you to grow. You might begin by sitting or lying still for a bit in a peaceful and comfortable location where you will not be disturbed. It's best to keep your spine straight to align the chakras and allow your Ki to flow freely, although sitting cross-legged in the lotus posture isn't necessary. One or two candles should be lighted, and incense or soothing essential oils should be used. (Keep in mind that a burning candle or incense should never be left alone.)

When you're ready, simply focus yourself by breathing deeply and evenly while allowing your entire body to relax. Starting with your feet and legs, then your trunk, shoulders and arms, and ultimately your neck, face, and head, tensing and then letting go of your muscles is sometimes the best way to do this. Allow yourself to settle into a steady, regular breathing rhythm (via your nose, not your mouth), and then count each in-breath 1, 2, 3, and so on until you reach 9. Return to 1, 2, 3, and up to 9 after the ninth breath, and continue in this manner for roughly five minutes.

You can meditate for much longer once you've become used to it, but five minutes twice a day is a good place to start. After you've developed a meditation habit, you might experiment with several ways until you find one or two that you like. There are often groups advertising meditation sessions in your local media. There are many books, CDs, and tapes available on the subject, so if it is not something you are familiar with, give it a try.

Chanting And Toning With Karuna Reiki

The Karuna Reiki experience taught me that toning or chanting during a Karuna Reiki session causes profound shifts in the healing energy's vibrational frequency. The Mahayana Buddhist tradition of the bodhisattva Avalokitesvhara, who creates the Sound that Illuminates the World, validates this notion.

The Ethics Of Distant Reiki Healing

The Second Degree procedures teach you how to transmit powerful healing to anybody, anywhere, at any time, including the past and future. Using the Distant (Connection) Symbol helps you to construct a bridge between you and the person (or animal) you wish to heal.

Guided Meditation To Help Heal The Shadow Self Can Change Your Life

The shadow self refers to the aspects of ourselves that have been repressed into the unconscious — the aspects of ourselves that we are insecure about, ashamed of, or frustrated with. The shadow self-concept is based on the idea that we metaphorically bury those aspects of our personalities that we fear will not be accepted, accepted, or loved by others; thus, we keep them in the shadows.

Integrative And Functional Medicine —Personalized Care For The 21st Century

The goal of integrative and functional medicine is to get to the root cause of health problems and treat the whole person with a combination of approaches—optimizing health for those who have it and restoring health for those who have lost it. Integrative medicine and functional medicine are often used interchangeably, but the terms are actually referring to two different approaches to patient care.

The Karuna Reiki Attunements

A common belief is that compassionate action is captured in this non-traditional form of Reiki. When used in conjunction with Usui Reiki, it has a powerful effect on its own, but even more so.
